Obituary of Patricia J. Burke
Patricia J. Burke, 92, of Freehold Borough passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born, raised, and was a lifelong resident of Freehold. Patricia worked at Central Jersey Bank and Trust, and after starting her family, she went on to be a school aid at Park Avenue School, Freehold. Later Patricia worked as a secretary for the Freehold Borough Board of Education before retiring about 22 years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America through the church. Patricia was an avid reader, loved the beach, and enjoyed watching movies. She was a devoted Yankee fan and had a passion for big band music. Patricia loved children and most importantly, she put her family first.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Burke; and brother, James Jackson. Patricia is survived by her children, Janet Burke of Manhattan, NY, Patricia Dietz and her husband, Robert of Tampa, FL, Ellen Tyler and her husband, Randall of Brick, NJ, Anna Hughes and her husband, Richard of Gastonia, NC, Stephen Burke and his wife, Pamela of Vacaville, CA, Sarah Burke of Freehold, and Claire Osovitz and her husband, Eugene of Freehold; ten grandchildren, Katie, Bobby, Joshua, Christopher, Jesse, Sarah Jane, Tim, Carly, Zachary, and Bailey; five great grandchildren, Brooke, Abigail, Joshua, Audrina, and A.J.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required.
