Condolences
I am so sad to here this, knew you from HS. My friend. The last time I seen you was on Staten Island and I been trying to contact you. I am truly heart broken. Miss you my friend.. RIP
It's a shock to hear this, I am sorry for those who know and loved him most. I remembered I thought you were a cop or military when I first started working with you and when you were silent during lunch, until we talked hockey. Or talked about your kids, how proud you were of them. You radiated pride when you spoke of them. All of your family. I learned a lot from you being an optician and appreciate those lessons. Thank you for making a tough and thankless job more fun.
Diana
Jodi, Mikey and Jake,
We are so very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing.
Rest in Peace with God Joe.
Love,
The Puglia Family
Dear Joe,
Lord knows you have left us way too soon. But in the short time you were with us, you have touched so many lives in a positive and memorable way as you fulfilled your life’s journey as a son, a brother, a husband, a father and as a dear friend to so many of us. These are the footprints you have left in the sands of your lifetime. It is the legacy you leave behind and should be extremely proud of.
Joe, you will be missed and never forgotten. Thank you for blessing us with your presence on earth and may you rest in peace.
To the family members and those close to Joe; we know you are all as saddened as we are with Joe’s departure. Lori and I pass on our deepest sympathies.

Joe, my dear friend for almost 50 years you will be terribly missed. We have shared some great times together, both on and off the ice. Our time spent in our hockey world together will never be forgotten. As I sit here alone I often think about our times together traveling hours to a rink to play a game we both loved and thinking about great times together. Off ice we shared equally great times together whether it was getting in our daily runs along 9 Ave before going to work in the morning (5-6am), going to every Rangers home game (sneaking in I might add) in the late 70's early 80's, watching road games in Al Spinelli's basement, or just hanging with The Boys on 8 Ave. I can probably go on and on here but there is one thing that I'm certain of and that is you're in a good place resting peacefully. R.I.P teammate as I will continue to try and understand why you left us so early. I love you buddy and thank you for sharing your life with me. You were certainly a true friend and teammate to me. I will miss you Forever!
Joseph we were so sorry to hear about your death. We enjoyed talking with you last year and you seemed to be content and happy in your new home. Rest in peace. Our sympathy to your two sons Michael and Jake.
Fondly, JoAnne Corsi and Steve Ladner

I worked with Joe for a number of years and while it has been many since, I can still vividly recall the love he had for his family, friends, and the NY Rangers. Sending comfort to all those sharing in sadness. May you rest in permanent peace, Joe.

Joe was a great friend, like a brother. He will be missed and I don’t think he realized how much. That feeling is best expressed by this beautiful and poignant song...
Lucinda Williams: Sweet Old World
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
The breath from your own lips, the touch of fingertips
A sweet and tender kiss
The sound of a midnight train, wearing someone's ring
Someone calling your name
Somebody so warm cradled in your arm
Didn't you think you were worth anything
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
Millions of us in love, promises made good
Your own flesh and blood
Looking for some truth, dancing with no shoes
The beat, the rhythm, the blues
The pounding of your heart's drum together with another one
Didn't you think anyone loved you
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world

There are no words that can begin to express our deepest sympathy over the loss of Joe. I met Joe the same day I met my late husband Gerry. It was a great honor to know such a wonderful man. I know he & Gerry are in Heaven now playing one hell of a hockey game. He will be greatly missed. With Deepest Sympathy. Chrissy Donnelly, Sons & Grandchildren
