Obituary of Jeanne Schultz Pry

Jeanne Schultz Pry, 96, of Neptune passed away at home on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. She was born and raised in Asbury Park, and spent her adult life in Neptune Township and Neptune City.  Early in her career Jeanne worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. and the College Shop in Red Bank.  Jeanne was then a bookkeeper for Seaboard Service Co. from 1975 to 2011 and later retired as the bookkeeper for Schultz Engineered Products at the age of 92.  She was a lifelong member of the Wayside United Methodist Church in Ocean Township and taught Sunday School at Hamilton United Methodist Church.  Jeanne also belonged to the Ocean Chapter of the Eastern Star #214 OES of Wall, and was past President of the Wayside Woman’s Club.  A kind and generous woman, Jeanne was mom-mom to many.

 As a young bride, Jeanne was a true military wife.  She followed her husband Bob, an Air Force pilot, to many bases throughout America before he was deployed. 

In her later years, Jeanne and Ray traveled extensively, enjoyed Sunday morning breakfasts and were auto racing fans.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Bob Schultz in 1963; her second husband, Rich Pry in 1986; her longtime companion, Ray McGirr in 2005; parents, Leon and Viola Bowne; and sisters, Eva Gibbs and Audrey Pier.  Jeanne is survived by her son, Robert L. Schultz, Sr. of Neptune Township; stepdaughter, Karen Pry of IL; two grandsons, Chris Schultz and his wife, Kathy of Augusta, GA, and Rob Schultz and his wife, Colleen of Ocean Township;  and five great grandchildren, Samantha, Gunner and Gibby Schultz, and Karch and Brent Swaylik. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:30 PM with her funeral service to follow.  For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines.
