Obituary of Maria H. Moreno

MARIA H. MORENO, 83, of LAKEWOOD, died Thursday, Dec. 27, at Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth. Mrs. Moreno was born in Pifo, Ecuador, South America settling in the U.S. in 1979 and had lived in Newark, Elizabeth and Hillside before moving to Lakewood in 1994. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Moreno was a parishioner of St. Anthony Claret Roman Catholic Church, Lakewood. She ws predeceased by her husband, Luis T. Moreno, in 1992. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Gonzalo and Cecilia Moreno of Ecuador; five daughters and sons-in-law, Hedy and Luis Ponce of Hillside, Myriam and Raul Moreno of Ecuador, Patricia and Pablo Salazar of Elizabeth, Dalila and Juan Malave of Howell, and Gabriela and Luis Martinez of Lakewood; and 12 grandchildren. Visiting from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 8 a.m. on Monday for the Rite of Committal followed by her 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Claret R.C. Church, 780 Ocean Ave., Lakewood.
