Obituary of Charles N. Metaxas
Charles N. “Charlie” Metaxas, 83, of Freehold Township passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at home. He was born in New York City and had lived in Brooklyn and on Long Island. Charlie had also lived in Rochester, New York and Harrington Park prior to settling in Freehold in 1983. He had worked as a construction supervisor for IUOE Local 825 for 50 years. Charlie enjoyed the outdoors, especially going fishing, crabbing, and tending to his vegetable garden. Above all, he was passionate about spending time with his loving wife, Cynthia.
Charlie was predeceased by his mother, Stella Metaxas; and step father, Dennis Metaxas. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kube Metaxas of Freehold Township; children, Dr. Dennis Metaxas and his wife, Bridgett of Montgomery, TX, Christopher Quinn of Houston, TX, Alexandra Barker and her husband, Mark of Coral Springs, FL, and Pete Metaxas of Jersey City; six grandchildren, MaryAnna Metaxas of Austin, TX, Noel Metaxas of Montgomery, TX, Kiera Metaxas of Montgomery, TX, Katheryn Quinn of Houston, TX, Christina Quinn, Tomball, TX, and Jessica Quinn of Conroe, TX; and siblings, Virginia Metaxas of East Haven, CT, Anne Metaxas of Monroe, NY, and Victoria Metaxas of New Haven, CT.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required. Interment will be private.
