Obituary of Leon Ben Kuey
Leon Ben Kuey, 78, of Upper Freehold passed away at home on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. He was born in Long Island, raised in Englishtown, and had lived in Freehold before settling in Cream Ridge in 1979. A hard-worker, Leon was the owner of Leon Kuey Excavating, a business he started in 1972. He took great pride in his business and in his family. Leon enjoyed boating and fishing in his spare time. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving man.
Leon is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet Tice Kuey of Cream Ridge; sons, Leon Kuey and his wife, Karen, Jeff Kuey, and Jason Kuey and his wife, Alison, all of Plumsted; and seven grandchildren, Courtney, Corinne, Grace, Carter, Brooke, Ben and Ava.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 11:00 to 1:30 PM with his funeral service scheduled for 1:30 PM. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required. Entombment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, West Main Street, Freehold Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Leon may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, New York 10131.
