Karen Foerschl

Obituary of Karen Ann Foerschl

Karen Ann Foerschl, 62, of Jackson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Kearny, raised in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township, and settled in Jackson 33 years. It is here that she and her husband raised their sons. Karen started her nursing career as a volunteer candy striper at John F. Kennedy Hospital in Edison, NJ and later worked there as a Pediatric Nurse for over 20 years. She found immense joy spending time on the many beaches along the Jersey Shore, especially Belmar Beach. Karen enjoyed shopping, country music, dining in Asbury Park, Broadway shows, traveling and spending time with her extended family and friends. She also dedicated service on the PTA Board of St. Veronica’s School. Her compassion for others, kindness and huge heart made her the epitome of a woman beautiful on both the inside and out. She was a one woman support system to so many over the course of her life and will be greatly missed by all.

She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Kay Reichert. Karen is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Steve Foerschl of Jackson; two sons, Steven Foerschl of Washington D.C. and Sean Foerschl of Arlington, VA; siblings, Richard Reichert and his wife, Carolyn of Forked River, Cheryl Sharkey and her husband, Owen of Iselin, Kathy Wolsky and her husband, Ross of Crofton, MD, James Reichert and his wife, Annabelle of Freehold, and Barbara Nisky and her husband, Joseph of Colonia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren and friends.
