Obituary of Marjorie W. Gwinnup
Marjorie W. Gwinnup, 101, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 21, 2021. Born and raised in Hackensack, she was a lifelong resident of New Jersey and had lived in Oradell, Oakland and Teaneck, retired to Whiting, and settled here in 2011. Marjorie worked for Ledoux & Company, a mineral analyzing company, as a corporate secretary prior to her retirement in 1981. She was a needlework enthusiast who knew the crafts of knitting, needlepoint, crocheting and sewing. Marjorie volunteered at the Salvation Army, was very intelligent and loved to purchase new gadgets and enjoyed welcoming hummingbirds into her yard.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Earl Gwinnup in 1989 and her grandson, Gregory Davis in 2018. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Davis; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah, Samaria, Nathanael, Gabriel, Shoshana, Caleb and Jubilee, all of NY, and their mother, Melissa Davis; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to adhere to the State guidelines. Facemasks will be required. Interment will take place on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
