Obituary of Matthew J. Cepeda

Matthew J. Cepeda, 22, of Freehold passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. He was born in Queens, was raised and had lived in Freehold. Matthew had a passion for music and had a smile that could brighten any room. He was known for giving the biggest and best hugs and his overwhelming presence of joy. Matthew loved to travel, go on family vacations, and especially enjoyed spending time at the pool and at the beach. He was adored by so many, was always surrounded by those that supported him, and will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Thank you to all the family and friends for all of the love and support given through Matthew’s journey.

The family would also like to thank all of the staff at the LADACIN Network and Bayada Nursing and the entire Pediatric Unit at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for the tremendous care they provided Matthew throughout his life.

He is survived by his devoted parents, Jose and Aracelis Cepeda; sister, Vanessa Cepeda and Gengis Diaz of West New York; brother, Daren Cepeda and his wife, Aleathea of Freehold; nephew, Xavier Cepeda; and many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Mausoleum, 549 Newman Springs Road, Marlboro. Matthew J. Cepeda, 22, de Freehold falleció el sábado 29 de mayo de 2021 en CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Nació en Queens, se crió y vivió en Freehold. Matthew tenía pasión por la música y tenía una sonrisa que podía iluminar cualquier habitación. Era conocido por dar los mejores y más grandes abrazos y su abrumadora presencia de alegría. A Matthew le encantaba viajar, ir de vacaciones en familia y, sobre todo, disfrutaba pasar tiempo en la piscina y en la playa. Fue adorado por tantos, siempre estuvo rodeado de quienes lo apoyaron y será extrañado por todos los que tuvieron el honor de conocerlo.
