Obituary of Janice May Finan

Janice May Finan, 95, of Freehold Township passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. She was born in Irvington, NJ and graduated from Irvington High School in 1943.  Janice worked in the corporate office of the Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, NJ in a series of positions.  She worked mostly in the investments area and here is where she met her husband, Bob. After their marriage, they moved to Bloomfield, NJ. Janice retired in 1984 after 41 years as the Executive Secretary to the Vice Chairman of Prudential. In 1999 Janice and Bob moved to the Applewood retirement community in Freehold.

Janice was predeceased by her parents, Alfred E. Andruss and Edith (Averre) Andruss; her brother, Robert Andruss; and her aunt, Mildred Armstrong. She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Finan who predeceased her in 2019. She is survived by her nephews, Matthew Fagan and his wife, Reshma of Neptune, NJ, Thomas Fagan and his wife, Laura and their two sons, Scott and Mark of Flanders, NJ, and her niece, Patricia Smith and her husband, David and their son Spencer of Seaford, DE. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM graveside service on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Road, Manalapan.
