Obituary of Salvatore Franzoso
Salvatore Franzoso, 80, of Marlboro gained his wings on Friday, July 16, 2021. He was born and raised in Brooklyn where he lived until relocating to Marlboro in 2009. Sal worked for the City of New York Department of Sanitation for over 25 years, retiring in 1994 as a supervisor. He was a loyal Mets and Jets fan, and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Sal loved golfing, bowling and bocce. A devout catholic, he was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold.
Sal was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Louise Franzoso. He is survived by his adoring wife of 57 years, Sylvia Franzoso of Marlboro; daughters, Lisa Marie Martin and her husband, John of Winston-Salem, NC, and Michele Franzoso of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, CJ. Martin of New York City, NY and Casey Martin of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Edith Reade of San Antonio, TX and Grace Bondi of Brooklyn, NY; and many loving extended family members.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold. For those that cannot attend Mass in person, the family invites you to participate via Webcast. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, 549 Route 520, Marlboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sal’s name may be made to the ALS Association Greater New York Chapter, 42 Broadway, Suite 1724, New York, NY 10004.
