Obituary of Eleanor A. Milano
Eleanor A. Milano, 82, of Jackson passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Eleanor was born in New York, raised in the Bronx and had lived in River Edge and Manalapan before settling in Westlake Village, Jackson. She worked as a librarian for Rocket & Missiles Aviation Magazine at McGraw-Hill, and later part time in the office of Dr. Pat DiCarlo and Dr. Maher Youssef, and as an insurance underwriter for SafeCo. Eleanor treasured her family and especially enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and visiting Disney World with her grandchildren. She loved trips to NY and going to the theater, concerts, and any Broadway shows she could get tickets to.
Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Rinaldo and Josephine DiPreta; and her brother-in-law, Dr. William Tierney. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Emil Milano of Jackson; son, Raymond Milano of Matawan; daughter, Janice Martino and her husband, Richard of both Freehold and Florida; grandchildren, Lisa Martino, Nicole Martino, Raymond Milano and Michael Martino; brother, Vincent DiPreta and his wife, Gail of Italy; sister, Laura Tierney of Union Township; nieces, Jennifer Reed and Kerry Tierney; great niece and nephew, Emma and Aiden; her faithful canine companion, Sawyer; and many loving cousins.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eleanor’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Way, Memphis, TN 38105.
