Obituary of Thomas J. Boyle

Thomas J. Boyle, 81, of Howell passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan, and raised in Parma, Ohio before moving his family to Fair Lawn in 1982. In 1994, Thomas moved to Bordentown before he settled in Howell Township in 1999. He graduated from the prestigious St. Edwards High School in Lakewood, Ohio. As a young man, Thomas served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1962 and continued as a reservist until 1965 when he was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist IV. Thomas was a member of the New Jersey State Planning Board as well as the Howell Township Planning Board. He served as a Committee Member for District 12 of Howell Township representing the Republican Party of Monmouth County. As a Project Manager, Thomas supervised the construction of the rectory at the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Freehold Township. He was a devout man and a Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the Freehold Council Knights of Columbus. Thomas was passionate about his woodworking and enjoyed fishing in the lakes and rivers of New Jersey. He was a loving and dependable husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who cherished above all else in life the time spent with his family.

He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Eleanor Boyle; and his brother, Joseph Boyle. Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Irene Boyle; his five children, Thomas B. Boyle and his wife, Michele of Largo, Florida, Lori Walsh of Levittown, Pennsylvania, Holly Fiorella and her husband, Gerald of Sparta, New Jersey, Julie Beites and her husband, Antonio of Fair Lawn, and Jodie Pennisi and her husband, Vincent of Wall; grandchildren, Deserai, Ian, Danielle, Sara, Vincent, Erin, Emma, Kevin, Paul, Isabella, and Lianna; four great grandchildren, Cody, Jaeden, Kaitlyn, and Anthony Joseph; and his siblings, Kathleen Lamb of Florida, Nora Lee Baerwalde and her husband, Donald of Georgia, Daniel Boyle and his wife, Debi of South Carolina, Timothy Boyle and his wife, Diana of Ohio, Robert Boyle and his wife, Paula of Ohio, and Lawrence Boyle and his wife, Kristi of Indiana.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
