Obituary of Anna Fiorillo

Anna Fiorillo, 98, of Brick passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 15, 2021.  Anna was born, raised, and had lived in Brooklyn until moving to Brick in 1998.  She was widowed at a young age and joined the workforce in the communications department at the American Express Company, New York City and had worked there for over 20 years until her retirement.  Anna raised her three children as a single mom with conviction and a tender heart.   She was a woman of faith and was a former parishioner of the Shrine Church of St. Bernadette, Brooklyn. Anna had a passion for baking and was a world-class cook. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring Nanny, doting MeeMa, caring sister, aunt, and friend.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Fiorillo; a daughter, Joanne Alfeo; a son, Joseph Fiorillo, Jr; two brothers, Tony and Neil; and three sisters, Margaret, Victoria, and Rose.  She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Odelli and her husband, Joseph of Howell; five grandchildren, Brian Odelli and his wife, Christine of Levittown, PA, Jennifer Marolla of West Palm Beach, FL, Joseph Odelli and his wife, Katherine of Toms River, Julianna Plantz of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Justin Fiorillo of the Bronx, NY; six great- grandchildren, Amanda Marolla, Brianna Odelli, Natalie Odelli, Joanna Plantz, Tyler Odelli and Elena Odelli; a sister, Louise Lombardo of Freehold; daughter- in-law, Grace Fiorillo of the Bronx, NY; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ 07728 on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 9:30 AM for the procession to her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, NJ 07728.  Inurnment will be held in Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735 at the convenience of the family.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
