Obituary of Judith E. Schwall

Judith E. Schwall, 69, of Manalapan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Judy was born on June 7th, 1952 and raised in the Westerleigh section of Staten Island. She and her family moved to Manalapan, NJ in 1986. She worked as a fulltime mom raising her four daughters until opening Pearls and Lace by Judy in Howell in 1999.  Judy then worked in the Fine Jewelry department at Lord & Taylor in the Freehold Raceway Mall after that she became a diamondologist for Gary Michael’s in Manalapan. She then returned to Lord and Taylor shorty after where she happily retired. Judy took great pleasure spending time crafting and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Her travels took her camping anywhere from Pennsylvania all the way to Michigan, cruising throughout the Caribbean and climbing Mt. Washington.  The picture of perfection, Judy lit up any room she walked in with her bright eyes and beautiful smile.  Family was everything to her.  Being married to the love of her life for 50 years, raising her four amazing daughters, she cherished her nine grandchildren and viewed them as the greatest accomplishments in her life.  In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she held an unwavering faith in God, throughout her entire life, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

She was predeceased by her mother, Evelyn Dahlsrom (when she was nine years old); father, Gilbert “Harry” Dahlstrom; stepmother, Muriel Dahlstrom; and sister, Lorrie Hollywood Reca.  Judith is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Bernard Schwall; four daughters, twins, Heidi Plummer and her husband, Chet of Jackson, Wendy Mongelli and her husband, Steven of Manalapan, Kerri Schwall of Freehold Township, and Julie Peña and her husband, Steve of Middletown; nine grandchildren, Sean, Ashley, Steven, Caeley, Madison, Brayden, Anabella, Daniel and Mikey; sister, Sandy Dahlstrom of PA; brother, David Dahlstrom and his wife, Ruth of MA, and Mark Dahlstrom and his wife, Missy of FL; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.  For those who desire, donations in Judy’s name may be made to Crossroads Assembly of God, 19 Main Street, Englishtown, NJ 07726.
