Obituary of Richard C. Bartlett, Jr.

Richard C. Bartlett, Jr., 74, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  He was born in Guilford, CT, and had lived in Branford, CT before settling here 46 years ago.  Richard had a lifelong career as a truck driver, originally working for Clayton Sand for 20 years, and then for Freehold Cartage, Inc. for 10 years prior to his retirement in 2017.  He enjoyed auto racing late model stock cars on the dirt tracks of New Jersey and Delaware in the 80s.  Richard’s greatest treasure in life was his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Richard C. Bartlett, Sr. and Beverly Bartlett.  Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Bartlett of Howell; sons, Richard C. Bartlett, III of Howell, and Raymond W. Bartlett of Wichita, KS; grandsons, Richard C. Bartlett IV of Jackson, Raymond W. Kelley and his wife, Hana of San Diego, CA , and Robert A. Kelley and his wife, Sabrina of Enid, OK; two great grandchildren, Gabriel William Kelley  and Elias Jasper Kelley, both of San Diego, CA; six siblings, Nancy Foley and her husband, Daniel, Nola Battipaglia and Beverly Dwyer and her husband, Dennis, all of Guilford, CT, and David Bartlett and his wife, Alice of NC, George Bartlett and his wife, Joan of Branford, CT, and Timothy Bartlett and his wife, Elizabeth of Dushore, PA; aunt, Marion Sanso of Killingworth, CT; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
