Obituary of Rose Sitty

Rose Sitty, 87, of Millstone, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was born and raised in Hoboken, moved to North Bergen and Shark River Hills before settling to Millstone. Rose worked as a seamstress years ago, but her most important job was taking care of her family. Her life was dedicated to her grandchildren. Whenever Rose’s grandchildren had a big test or exam, she would call them to say a prayer, so they had everything they needed to do their very best. Rose was a devoted catholic and parishioner at St. Joeseph’s Church in Millstone.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Sitty of Millstone; children, Michele Craven of Neptune, Maureen Sitty-Emilius and her husband, John of Sea Girt, Grace Trentacosti and her husband, Anthony of Millstone; grandchildren, James Basciano, Carlie Singler and her husband Kevin, Andrea Trentacosti, Corinne Craven, and Colleen Craven; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Rose will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 91 Stillhouse Road, Millstone. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, 169 W Main Street, Freehold, NJ 07728.  Memorial contributions in Rose’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
