Obituary of Florence Barnik
Florence Barnik, born Florentyna Malaszycha, 94, of Glenolden, PA, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Leisure Park Senior Center in Lakewood, NJ. She was born in Philadelphia, PA and spent most of her life in the greater Philadelphia area. As a young woman, Florence earned a PA Cosmetologist License and worked as a beautician. Florence loved gardening and volunteer work. In her later years, she enjoyed nothing more than sharing her home with family and friends. She was a terrific cook and an even better hostess. If you didn’t have a great time in her home, it was your own fault! Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 75 years, Edward W. Barnik. Florence is survived her loving daughter, Sandra Benarick and her husband, Stanley J. Benarick III of Freehold; and grandson, Stanley J. Benarick IV and his wife, Lauren of West Chester, PA.
Relatives and friends are invited to Florence’s funeral mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 10:30AM. Inurnment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veteran Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown at 12:30PM. All arrangements are under the direction of Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home.
