Obituary of Anthony LoSapio

Anthony S. LoSapio Sr, 77, of Matawan, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center. Anthony was born and raised in Madison before settling in Matawan in 1974. He retired as a contractor. Anthony was an avid golfer who loved to play at the Colonia Country Club, Shore Oaks Country Club, and Bear Lakes Country Club in Florida. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, and doting on his grandchildren, Christina and Nikki. Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Gabriel LoSapio; two brothers, Louis and Frank LoSapio; two sisters, Caroline DelMonte and Rose LoSapio; and a son-in-law, John Droppa. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Cheryl LoSapio of Matawan and Wendy Droppa of Freehold; a son, Anthony LoSapio, Jr. of Matawan; two granddaughters, Christina and Nikki Droppa; three brothers, Joseph LoSapio of Morris Plains, Gabriel LoSapio and his wife, Mary of Long Valley and John LoSapio of Morris Plains; two sisters, Anne Bartek of Madison and Nancy Sibona and her husband, Vince of Manahawkin; a sister-in-law, Ann Spagnola, of Matawan; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Leo Hogan of Vineland. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Clement Parish, 172 Freneau Avenue, Matawan on Thursday, December 28, 2012.
