Obituary of Yazmar A. Gill
Yazmar A. “Yaz or Yazzy” Gill, 26, of Howell passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Jersey City and settled here in 2009. Yaz was a 2014 graduate of Howell High School where he competed on their wrestling and football teams. He was a technician for TruGreen Lawn Care in Farmingdale and worked security for Steadfast Security in Monmouth County. Yaz loved barbecue cookouts and had an affinity for music. More than anything, he enjoyed being around people and was often the life of the party. Yaz’s aspirations included owning his own business and being able to financially assist those he found in need. Yaz’s light will never be extinguished because it will live forever in the lives he has touched.
Yazmar was predeceased by his parents, Rashawn Ali and Andrea Gill; his uncle, Calvin Tyrone Gill; and his baby cousin, Zuri Penelope Legay. He is survived by his siblings, Kha’liff Gill of Statesville, NC; Imani Gill of Jersey City, NJ and Quron Gill of Howell, NJ; maternal grandmother, Pauline Matthews of Howell, NJ; niece, Tiffany Amaya Gill of Statesville, NC; his aunt, Janet Matthews of East Brunswick, NJ: cousin, Zinnia Legay of East Brunswick, NJ; (Paternal maternal) grandfather, Calvin Gill of Statesville, NC; his godson, Ashton J. Butler of Lakewood, NJ; his special cousins, Lonzy Cox of Manchester, NJ, Jeremy Butler of Lakewood, NJ, and Christopher Brown;his best friend, Dylan Rowohlt of Waretown, NJ; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM with his memorial service to follow.
