Norman Bright
1954 - 2021
Condolences
I enjoyed working with Norman when he was at HIDTA (BLOC) he taught me much regarding Customs laws and procedures and was a pleasure to be around, A man of integrity and kindness, I never heard him say a cross word about anyone, a true gentleman and I pray he is resting in peace. Rest in heavenly peace Norm.
Norman was one of the most amazing and awesome of human beings I have ever known. He was my Branch Chief at Customs and Border Protection. The adjectives to describe him are endless; compassionate, intelligent, funny, energetic, kind, appreciative, protective, honest, forthright, trustworthy, knowledgeable, upbeat, considerate, etc. Norm is absolutely the very best boss I have ever had the pleasure of working for in 30+ years of Federal service. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family, of whom he spoke fondly. That dreadful one-year anniversary is approaching. Please know that someone in Virginia whom you’ve never met is praying for you. God bless you with abundant comfort, consolation, and knowledge that Heaven has gained another terrific guy. God rest his soul!
Norm was a friend and mentor to me. We attended FLETC together in 1987 and he later trained me at IA-Miami in 1992.
He was a tireless, dedicated professional. A Marine with a kind heart, a devoted family man, dedicated professional and the consummate Agent. His life made a difference. Rest in Peace. May his memory be for a blessing.
Norm Bright was an extraordinary example of what we all can strive to be if we just give it 100% each and every day. In Norm’s case 110%, hence the “Stormin Norman” air quotes used when he was passionate about doing something now.
I was devastated when I learned of Norm’s passing. My deepest and most heartfelt sympathies go out to Chris and the Bright kids. Norman loved his country, his career as a Special Agent but above all his family.
Norm, Leon and I were partners in the FJTG. The work back then was overwhelming in volume, excited and sometimes a surveillance lasted weeks, but Norm came out there each day like a ray of sunshine with a glass of ice tea in his cooler. The AUSA’s office would joke and confuse us, our last names Bright and Wright. There are so many stories over the years and every one of them always ended in laughter, a bit of cursing but always laughing.
I worked with Norm in several groups over the years, FJTG, Outbound, Greenquest and BLOC. I even worked for him at BLOC. He’d say “Jeannie” we have to keep BLOC going it’s the last Customs group. He was right of course. He was the most outstanding agent I have ever been blessed to meet and work with for so long. Norm was humble about his own achievements.
I am truly a better person for knowing Norm and calling him friend.
Godspeed Norm. You are missed

It saddened me to hear the news that one of the good guys has left us too soon. I had the pleasure and honor to have worked with Norm on numerous occasions, he was the guy you wanted with you when going through that door. He was a hard worker, a professional and a true gentleman. Norm was a dedicated individual who was always available to help his colleagues and management. He was an example of what a human being in a law enforcement officer position should be. I never saw Norm lose his tempter, he was always upbeat, however he was not shy about sharing his point of view. I'm not aware of of anyone who met or worked with Norm, who did not like him. I believe we all share a little bit of Norm in us, for having known him.
Rest in eternal peace my friend and God Bless.
My condolences to Norms family and close friends.

I want to say that it was pleasure to have worked as his Investigative Assistant in Worksite for such a professional and kind hearted man like Norman. My deepest sympathies to his family for his passing. He is in a special place. Rosa Gonzalez. Retired from ICE
The Hipkins family loved Norm. He was a great american.
My Condolences to Christine, the young adult children and the rest of the family. I worked with Norm and he was a true professional always willing to help out a fellow agent.
May the grace & mercy of the Lord cover & keep you and the family always!

It breaks my heart to hear of Norman’s passing.
Norman was a great person. He was a patriot, having served in the Air Force and the Marine corps. We worked together in OI, FJTF and IA. He was a dedicated Agent that never complained about working long and late hours. He was first to volunteer for surveillance’s and would use the u/c 18 wheel cabin in traffic like it was a sports car.
We worked a narco case together that required the use of a search warrant. We were out of the area so we drove over a 100 mph
to the location. Unfortunately, we blew out a tire. Norman was cool as ice. He maintained control of the GOV stopped changed the tire and we got to the target in time to execute the warrant . Norman saved my life that day. If not for his calm demeanor another person would have lost control of the GOV. But not Norman it was just another day in the office.
I will miss you brother! May God Bless your family.

I had the pleasure of working with Norm during my tenure in Domestic Operations at HSI Headquarters from 2010 to 2011. His professionalism made our time together productive, and word of his passing comes as a shock, accompanied by great sadness.
It is edifying and humbling to realize that, at the cusp of my own retirement in 2022, some of those who paved the way for me, as Norm did, are passing to the ages.
I bid him fair winds and following seas - watch secured. May G-d’s comfort be with his family in this difficult time.
My deepest sympathies to Norm’s family. It was a honor and privilege to have known and worked with him for many years . Norm was a highly skilled, highly dedicated, hard working Agent who never compromised on integrity. He was always loyal to his family and many friends. He was always upbeat and quick with a smile. I am truly saddened by the loss of Norm Bright.
Our deepest sympathies to Norman’s beautiful family; Christine, Norman Jr., Matthew, Catherine, and Jennifer Bright. Norm was a true patriot and loved our country. Most of all he loved his family. Norm not only served in the United States Marine Corps and Air Force, but he went on to further serve his country as a federal criminal investigator. I always considered Norman to be a true friend. He was always there for me. I miss working with Norm, playing tennis (we sucked), having a few beers, but most of all laughing. We were always laughing no matter how bad the situation. Rest In Peace, Brother. You are respected by many and we will miss you. May God continue to bless Norman’s entire family. Love, Leon, Beth, Matthew, Nicholas, and Michelle Ives
