Obituary of George V. Preis
George V. Preis, 89, of Upper Freehold passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Allegria at The Oaks, Pennsylvania. He was born in New York City, raised in Howell, and settled to Upper Freehold in 2005. George bravely served in the United States Air Force and was a proud graduate of Rutgers University. He was a member of the Republican Committee, the Howell Township Committee, and helped build the Church House that is on the property of St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Cathedral. George was passionate about spending time outdoors, traveling, and being all around adventurous. Above all, nothing made him happier than being surrounded by his family and taking care of them.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Julia T. Pries. George is survived by his sons, Eric G. Preis and his partner, Anastasia Nikolovski of Browns Mills, and Dr. Keith V. Preis and his wife, Alexandra of Mount Laurel; daughter, Corinne Preis of Roosevelt; nine grandchildren; and many dive club, ski club, and racquetball friends.
Pannyhida will be held at St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 200 Alexander Ave, Howell Township, NJ 07731 on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Service at the Cathedral on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, 316 Cassville Road, Jackson Township. For those that cannot attend in person, the family invites you to participate via webcast, HERE.
