Obituary of James Galantucci

James Galantucci, 93, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  James was born and raised in Altoona, PA until the age of 10.  He had lived in Brooklyn his whole life until moving to Freehold Township in 1996.  James proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He owned a grocery store and worked as a machinist until becoming a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.  James retired from the Post Office in 1992.  He was a former parishioner of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Brooklyn and was a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine in Freehold Township.  James was active at the Freehold Township Senior Center and liked watching Fox News.  He relished working around the house, either replacing a light bulb or completely redoing a bathroom.  James had a passion for food, but his true love was for his family.

James was predeceased by his son, Louis Galantucci; a brother, Louis Galantucci; two sisters, Rose Fein and Mary Protano; and a son-in-law, Christopher Miller.  He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Carmela; four children, Mary Basso and her husband, Edward of Freehold Township, Vincent Galantucci and his wife, Rosemary of Freehold Township, Evelyn Levine and her husband, Robert of Freehold Township, and Paula Miller of Freehold Township; two grandchildren, Bridget Basso and Gabriella Levine; and many nieces and nephews.
