Obituary of John W. Rainey

John W. Rainey, 89, of Howell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, Ocean Medical Center, Brick.  He was born and raised in Flatbush Brooklyn before settling in Howell in 1964 to raise his family. John was a teamster for local 817 for over 44 years retiring in 2000. In his retirement he enjoyed vacationing, cheering on the jets, and having his two glasses of wine daily. He will be missed by the love of his life, Patricia. His family will forever cherish the good times and the many memories of John.

John is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Rainey of Howell; five children, Judy Santilli and her husband, Bob of Manchester, John Rainey of North Carolina, Kathleen Post of Jackson, Ken Rainey and his wife, Alaine of Fair Haven and Jennifer Rainey of Howell; thirteen grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren with one on the way; and brother, Leonard Cassamassino and his wife, Sandy of Upstate New York.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in St Mary Of The Lake Cemetery And Mausoleum, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood.
