Obituary of Anthony Verniero
Anthony Verniero, 69, of Freehold passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at home. He was born in Newark and had lived in West Caldwell before settling to Freehold. Anthony worked as an Electrician for New Jersey Transit for 25 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially of football and baseball, which led to his success as a coach. Anthony enjoyed watching Columbo on TV and reading in his spare time.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marie Verniero; and father, Vito Verniero. Anthony is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Joan Verniero; step-sons, Scott Curlo of Nevada and Ryan Curlo and his wife, Christina of Sparta; and nieces, Sarah Stacey and her husband, Michael and Sharon Csomay.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with his memorial service to follow.
