Obituary of Karl Gene Fahringer

Karl Gene Fahringer, 80, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. He was born in Morgantown, WV, and settled in Howell in 1968. He served honorably for the United States Air Force for 4 years. Karl worked as a System Analyst at Monmouth Medical Center for many years. He was a parishioner at St. Veronica’s Church where he served as an usher and a member of the St. Matthew’s Guild. Karl was a member of the Knights of Columbus 6201 of Howell and Jackson. He was also a member of the 4th Degree Knights of the Rt. Rev. Monsignor John F. Baldwin Assembly #0658. He was an active member of the New Jersey Lighthouse Society and the Friends of Howell Library. Karl enjoyed gardening, golfing, and traveling. He was so proud of all his grandchildren and made sure he was able to support them in everything they did. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

He was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Jean Fahringer; and grandson, Zachary Walker. Karl is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Anne Fahringer of Howell; children, David Fahringer and his wife, Lorraine of Howell, and Michael Charles Fahringer and his wife, Emily of Holly Springs, N.C.; grandchildren, Alana Gisleson and her husband, Jeremy, Aaron Walker and his wife, Natalie, Andrew Fahringer, and Erin Fahringer; and brother, Jon Fahringer and his wife, Jo Ann of Tampa, FL.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 9:30 AM in St. Veronica Roman Catholic Church, 4215 U.S. 9, Howell Township, NJ 07731.  Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown, NJ.
