Obituary of Christine Ann Machiz

Christine Ann Machiz, 60, of Freehold passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2021 surrounded by all of her children.  She was born in the Bronx and had lived in New Hyde Park, Long Island prior to moving to Millstone where she raised her family, and then settled in Freehold in 2017. She was a nurturer and giver at heart, which was demonstrated through her career as a registered nurse. Christine worked for Gastroenterology of Toms River prior to joining the team at the Manalapan Surgical Center. She loved to spend time at the beach, play tennis, and tend to her garden. Christine was best known for her great sense of humor, selflessness, and love of animals. Most of all, she was a loving mother and adoring grandmother. Christine will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Christine was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Frank Diolosa; uncle and aunt, Vincent and Ella Taylor; and faithful canine companion, Bernie.  She is survived by her son, Nicholas Machiz and his wife, Netti; daughter, Carly Luciano and her husband, Brian of Whispering Pines, NC; twins, Andrew Machiz and his wife, Alyssa of Ludowici, GA and Dana Machiz and her husband, Kevin McArthur of Wall; and daughter, Samantha Machiz and her boyfriend, Garrett of Shark River Hills; four grandchildren, Jack, Johnny, Annaleigh, and Elizabeth; parents, George and Christine Boehm; sister, Kathy Diolosa; brother, Kevin Boehm; cousins; a niece and nephews; and many loving friends and extended family members.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 Funeral Mass at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.  Interment will be private. For those who desire, donations may be made in Christine’s memory to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
