Obituary of Manuel Pio Piñeiro, Sr.
Manuel P. Piñeiro, Sr., 79, of Howell passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Pumadiño, Spain, was raised on a farm, and served as a Merchant Marine. It was the Merchant Marines that brought him to the United States in 1965, where he met the love of his life, Amparo. They were married in 1966 and raised three children together. They settled in Carteret and later moved to Howell in 2000. Manuel was the proud owner of Piñeiro's Construction Company in Carteret and Howell. He was a hard worker who was handy and could fix anything. When he was not working, Manuel could be found walking his dog Amigo, gardening, or tending to his chickens. He was a true family man who enjoyed summer vacations to Spain, spending time at Sandy Hook Beach with his wife and children, and making homemade red wine with his son-in law, grandson and friend, Jose.
Manuel was predeceased by his parents, Jesus Piñeiro and Maria Garcia; brother, Jesus Piñeiro, Jr; He is survived by his wife, Amparo Piñeiro of Howell; three children, Manuel P. Piñeiro, Jr. of Howell, Daniel Piñeiro of Long Branch and Maria J. Carmen of Howell; son-in-law, Ronald Carmen, Jr. of Howell; grandson, Ronald D. Carmen of Howell; brother, Rafael Piñeiro of Pumadiño, Spain; sister in-law, Dolores DaSilva of Farmingdale; nieces and nephew, Rachel DaSilva of Belmar, Maria D. Leto of Howell and David DaSilva, Jr. of Point Pleasant; and great niece, Hailey and great nephew, Aidan.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with his funeral service to follow.
