Obituary of Karen Burdge

Karen Burdge, 66, of Howell passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  She was born and raised in Spotswood prior to settling in Howell 39 years ago.  Karen was employed by Newport Systems, Wall.  She enjoyed spending time with her family watching football, boxing and nascar.  Karen was creative which led to her love for painting, decorating, and cooking. She had a green thumb and kept the best garden. Karen is deeply loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. In keeping her memory alive, her family requests that everyone plant something in their garden in memory of Karen.  

Karen was predeceased by her parents, George and Julie Matikonis; brother, James Matikonis; and sister, Jeannie Watson. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Paul Burdge; three sons, Paul Jason Burdge and his wife, Debbie of Howell, Jarrod Burdge of Howell and Ryan Burdge of Howell; two grandchildren, Rachel Burdge and Jake Burdge; niece, Lorrin Burrows Natusch of Hollywood, Florida; sister, Daria Daw of Tennessee; and cat, Lucy.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:30 PM with her funeral service to follow. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 for procession to Evergreen Cemetery, Howell.
