Obituary of Joan F. Evans

Joan F. Dailey Evans, formerly of Freehold, New Jersey, currently residing in Sellersville, Pennsylvania died on December 9, 2021 at the age of 93 years old. She was born in South River, raised in Freehold Borough and had lived in Howell for 40 years before moving to Freehold in 1996. In 2016, Joan moved to Pennsylvania. She attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Freehold and was a graduate of Freehold, High school class of 1946. She was employed at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital for 28 years as a medical administrative assistant until her retirement in 1983. Joan was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She collected angels, teapots, hobnail milk glasses and Irish Bellleek China. Joan enjoyed traveling and many cruises with family, crossword puzzles and dancing.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Olga Dailey; beloved husband, Robert of 30 years in 2007; brother, Raymond Dailey in 2020; sister-in-law, Blanche Dailey in 2020; brother Joseph in 2021; Lifelong best friend of 79 years, Jane Cecelski in 2012, friend and cousin, Kay Dailey in 2019; beloved cat Cody in November 2008.

Surviving her is a daughter, Karen F. Drum; Grandson, Gary W. Drum Jr.; Great Granddaughter, Crystal M. Drum all of Pennsylvania; Sister-In-law, Dorothy Dailey of Cream Ridge; Niece, Janice and her husband, Larry McDonnell; Great niece, Katie McDonnell of Cranberry; and Cousin, James Dailey of Freehold.

Her current loyal cat, Cleo was by her side when she passed and now is mourning the passing of her mom.

A gathering of friends will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with her Memorial Service to follow.
