Obituary of George Flora, Sr.
George Flora, Sr, 78, of Waretown passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at home. He was born in Jersey City and had lived in Freehold before settling to Waretown in 2006. George was passionate about his work; He was a maintenance mechanic for Union County College for 30 years. During his free time, he enjoyed wood working and was truly a jack of all trades. His greatest blessings in life were his grandchildren and great granddaughter. George tirelessly cared for his wife of 43 years, Carole before her passing in 2020 his family is at peace knowing that they are reunited again.
George was predeceased by his wife, Carole Flora; siblings, Anthony Flora, Marie Nagy, Louis Flora, Rose Dresser and Genevive Nikitin. He is survived by his children, Kevin Flora of Howell, Keith Flora of Waretown, Vicky Van Dunk and her husband, Guy of Florida, Michael Eagen and his wife Victoria of Texas, Chris Eagen of Georgia, Dawn Eagen-Schneider and her husband, Mark of Georgia and George Flora, Jr and his wife, TerriLynne of Waretown.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold. Donations in George’s memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
