Obituary of Blanche Janet Godlewski
Blanche Janet Godlewski, 94, of Tinton Falls passed away at the Jewish Home for Rehabilitation and Nursing on Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was born in New York City, raised in Jersey City, and moved to Edison and then Lakewood before settling in Tinton Falls. Blanche’s life centered around her family and the home she made for them. She enjoyed cooking and baking for the dinners and holidays she prepared. Blanche or Jan, as she preferred to be called by her middle name, had an ability to laugh often and freely. She had many friends in her life and enjoyed a full social calendar. She loved to travel with her family and friends, she was always ready to go shopping, golfing or to the beach. Once she moved to the Four Seasons, Jan took full advantage of the benefits of living in an adult community. She enjoyed playing games in the club house, sunning at the pool and attending dances, concerts, and the theater. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting, her great granddaughters inherited her talents.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alexander Godlewski; her parents, Julius and Tekla Kolakowski; and her brother, Victor Kolakowski. Blanche is survived by her daughters, Fran Ciuba and her husband, Thomas of Manalapan, and Jan Oldak and her husband, William of Jackson; her grandchildren, Lisa Daly and her husband, Michael of Marlton, and Kenneth Oldak of Jackson; and great grandchildren, Kayleigh Daly, Raena Daly, and Adalyn Daly.
