Obituary of John F. Keegan

John F. Keegan, 63, of Howell passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Christmas morning.   He was born in Jersey City, and grew up and lived in Hoboken before settling in Howell to raise his family.  John was a founding member of Property Risk Services in 2001, and later sold the company to AmWins Brokerage of New Jersey where he was the President and provided top-notch service to his customers, and welcomed and mentored many employees.  He enjoyed the game of golf, and was a Giants season ticket holder.  John loved spending time at his vacation homes in Naples, FL and Harvey Cedars, NJ.  He was also a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Farmingdale.  Of all his accomplishments, his family was his greatest by far.  John was a wonderful husband, best friends with his boys, and a beloved Pop Pop. 

He was predeceased by his parents, John F. Keegan, Sr. and Phyllis Keegan; and his sister, Kathleen Keegan.  John is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Cathy DeCongelio Keegan; sons, Christopher Keegan and his wife, Samantha of Howell, John Keegan and his wife, Adrianna of Freehold Township, and Ryan Keegan and his wife, Jaclyn of Howell; grandchildren, Kathryn, Madelyn, Carly, John and Joseph; sister, Staela Keegan of Nutley; sister-in-law, Angela Iapicca and her husband, Gerard of Clifton; and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale, NJ.  Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, 549 County Route 520, Marlboro, NJ.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Be the Match Registry, 500 N. 5^th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55401.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
