Obituary of Ronald Joseph Lorenzo

Ronald Joseph Lorenzo, Sr. 83, of Freehold passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Wedgwood Gardens Care Center. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and settled to Freehold in 2005. Ronald was valedictorian of St. Michael’s High School and earned himself a full ride scholarship to St. John University. He then worked as a Compliance Examiner for many years. Ronald loved opera, puzzles, classic movies, and had a great memory which led to his success as a trivia genius. Above all, he was passionate about spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Sara Lorenzo. Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Theresa Lorenzo of Freehold; children, Ronald J. Lorenzo, Jr., and his wife, Merita of Howell, Dominic F. Lorenzo of Howell, Rosemarie DeRienzo and her husband, Salvatore of Old Bridge, and Carmelann Lorenzo of Old Bridge; grandchildren, Max, Nicholas, Salvatore Jr., Shea, Olivia, and Alexander; siblings, Theresa Tartini and her husband, Frank of Bergen County, Jerry Miriello of Staten Island, Catherine Caldiero of Staten Island, and Joseph Lorenzo, Jr., and his wife, Antoinette of Staten Island.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Funeral Home for the procession to his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold.  Interment will follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, 361 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751.
