Obituary of Charles E. Hendrickson
Charles E. Hendrickson, Sr., 87, lifelong resident of Freehold, passed away on January 9, 2022. He was the owner of Hendrickson Excavating, Inc. for 35 years. In Charles early years as a farmer, he grew tomatoes for Campbells. He also worked for the state to assist with their forest fire service. In his spare time, Charles loved deer hunting with family and friends, researching his genealogy and tracing back his family tree. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Isabel Hendrickson; and sisters, Mary Eldridge, Doris Paasch, and Carolyn Hendrickson. Charles is survived by his children, Charles Hendrickson, Jr. and his fiancee, Rosemary Bishop of Jackson; William Hendrickson of Manalapan, Mary Jane Gagliardi and her husband, Pete of Blairstown, and Debbie Weiczorkiewicz and her husband, Edward of Florida; grandchildren, Alyssa Weiczorkiewicz, Peter Gagliardi and his fiancée Shannon Dougherty, Tony Gagliardi, Gabriella Gagliardi, and David Gagliardi; great grandchildren, Emma and Ryan; siblings, Lillian Howarth and Dale Parkin, both of Manalapan; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon with his funeral service to follow at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, 169 West Main Street, Freehold. Memorial contributions in Charles name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
