Obituary of William V. McGirr

William V. McGirr, 84, of Sacramento, CA died surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, January 17, 2022 at his daughter’s home in Lake Como, NJ.  Bill was born in Rumson, NJ and moved to California in 1983.  He was a custodial supervisor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Goleta, CA for 19 years retiring in 2002.  Bill was a life member and an exempt member of the Oceanic Hook & Ladder Co. in Rumson.  He was also a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks #2274 in Lompoc, CA.

He was predeceased by his wife, Florence McGirr in 2010.  Bill is survived by two sons, Daryl McGirr of Brooklyn, NY and Josh Allen-Clark of Belfast, ME; daughter, Mindy McGirr-Franza of Lake Como, NJ; and five grandchildren, Anthony Farrow, Forrest Schoenleber, Skyler Schoenleber, Autumn Schoenleber and Jaden Schoenleber. 

Graveside services will be held at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown at a date and time to be determined. Arrangements were handled by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
