Obituary of Robert R. Giacomino
Robert "Bobby" R. Giacomino, 81, of Monroe Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick. Born and raised in the Bronx, Bobby lived in Brooklyn, Staten Island and Wayne, New Jersey, before settling in Monroe Township in 2008. Bobby served in the U.S. Navy and as a New York City Police officer until he retired in 1984. After leaving the NYPD, he worked as a doorman at Takashimaya on Fifth Avenue. He also worked at Garzilli's Pine Springs Resort in the Catskills. Bobby loved people and loved to entertain with his sense of humor and broad knowledge of many subjects. A voracious reader, he particularly enjoyed history, mystery and crime novels, which made him an expert when watching "Jeopardy." Bobby loved model trains and playing cards, particularly pinochle, and travelling extensively throughout the United States and Europe with Faye Katz-Giacomino, his loving wife of 26 years.
Bobby is survived by Faye; his children, Diane Giacomino and Nicole-Giacomino Azzarelli and her husband, Salvatore; Russell Katz; his beautiful granddaughter, Elizabeth; and his sister Rosemarie Cracolici.
