Obituary of Helen Mae Roe
Helen Mae Roe passed away on the evening of February 10th, 2022 at the age of 97. She was born to Mae Barkalow in Long Branch, New Jersey. Helen lived her entire life in the Freehold/Howell area. She had been a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church, Adelphia and the Adelphia Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Helen was predeceased by her 1st husband, Melvin Worth, Sr. in 1949; her 2nd husband, Raymond “Toby” Roe in 1981; her brother, Raymond J. Bartlett, Jr. in 2001; a sister-in-law, June Bartlett in 2015; and her eldest son, Melvin Worth, Jr. in 2019. She is survived by daughter, Linda Smith; a son, Raymond A. “Toby” Roe; daughter-in-law, Renate Worth; six grandchildren, Brian Worth, Lisa Feggulis, and John Worth; Bruce Smith; Rebecca Roe, Timothy Roe, and their mother, Loretta; eleven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
The family wishes to acknowledge Helen’s caregivers from the VNA Hospice, her aides: Margaret, Lisa, Amata, and Dianna and Nurses: Rosemie and Vinnette. They became her adopted family and she looked forward to them arriving every day.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 9:30 AM graveside service at Adelphia Cemetery, 581 Wyckoff Mills Rd, Adelphia on Monday, February 14, 2022.
