Obituary of John M. Kochan
John M. Kochan, 79, of Toms River passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Norwich, CT, raised in Brooklyn and lived in Manalapan before settling here in 2009. John was a self-employed plumber still working up until the time of his passing. One of John's main passions in his life was home renovations. He was exceptionally gifted and experienced in this area, and gave generously from this talent by helping friends and family with numerous projects, often of significant complexity. John also loved classic cars, and even learned to fly a plane.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Kochan of Toms River; three daughters, Christine Kochan of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Lisa Lomma and her husband, Anthony of Pennington, and Kimberly Orlando and her husband, Dominic of Manalapan; four grandchildren, Dominic Orlando, Jr., Connor Orlando, Anthony Lomma, and Juliana Lomma; brother, Walter Kochan and his wife, Robyn of Wilkes-Barre, PA; sister, Kathleen Clifford and her husband, David of Whiting; and his faithful feline companion, Joey.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will be private.
