Obituary of Robert C. Sauter

Robert C. Sauter, 67, of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at home. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, graduated from Nazareth High School, and lived in Staten Island before settling here in 2017. During his downtime, Robert enjoyed listening to music, watching the horse races and family trips to Gettysburg. He was very patriotic and loved his country.  A friend and “brother” to all, Robert was loyal to all who knew him. His family was his greatest blessing, and he enjoyed every moment spent with them. 

Robert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marian Sauter of Freehold Township; three children, Nicole Bulcroft and her husband, William of Marlboro, Robert C. Sauter and his wife, Dominique of Staten Island, and Eric Sauter and his wife, Cindi of Staten Island; five grandchildren, James, Andrew, Savannah, Ryan and George; and his sister, Joanne Sauter and her husband, Raul Alboniga of Staten Island.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, 549 Newman Springs Road, Marlboro.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105 and Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.  For information, directions, or to leave condolence messages to the family, please visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
