Condolences
The Apicella girls, Terese, Laurie and Janine want to send our deepest condolences. Cousin Janet certainly had the Salica energy and spending time with her always fondly reminded us our grandmother Santa Cangemi (Salica). Some people bring true light to this world and Janet was one of them. Spending time with her in Florida was always a treat. I know she will be sorely missed.
Although we only met once in Florida without dear friends David & Roberto, it was so clear that Janet was a life force of goodness & energy. She spoke lovingly of her family & loved the life she lived. May her memory be a blessing for all who knew her. In sympathy, Maureen Salter
Janet and I met many times, and she always was a warm and wonderful lady. And one thing you could say was she seemed to love her family very much. I'm sorry that they are enduring such a loss.
When I met mrs p the 1st time was when the parentes moved on ave t, me and my friend Joseph ganged up on mark, mrs p came in the back alley and said to fight fair one on one we did , mark kicked our butts and we became friends for years to come . Mr and mrs parente were great people, they took me and all of us to boxing matches , hockey rinks , restaurants and always made us feel like family . Mrs parente was a kind, generous and loving woman who I’m sure will be missed greatly by her family. I’m know mrs p and mr p will be happily reunited in heaven and be together once again . God bless her and mr p too
Once I met Janet at Santamaria Eye Center, she was so warm and friendly, she instantly became my special friend. Everyone at the office would stop by Janet's office for a breath of fresh air!! That fresh air was Janet!
When Janet and Joe moved to Jackson we would meet for dinner often, my daughter and son lived nearby. Then we moved to
Westlake Golf and Country Club and that was it, my husband Tom and I were with Janet and Joe quite often.
Our grandchildren 8 and 10 at that time loved them, when Joe passed away, they insisted on going to the Funeral Home.
Janet was my confidant, I asked her what I should wear, what I should do, what I should say! She was the Sister I never had.
She was gorgeous and smart to the very end. I will MISS HER!!!!
As my daughter just said to me, "Janet is in heaven now with Joe having a nice Laugh! They were always so happy and made everyone around them happy!!
They loved their family and friends and WE LOVED THEM!!!!!

Cousin Janet was always happy, kind, compassionate and fun to be around. Her laugh was infectious. A beautiful person inside and out.
Mrs. Parente and her Husband were the best neighbors and friends a person could ask for. They were, and remain, a huge blessing to our family, and we will remember them forever. Janet was one of the first people to welcome us in Fort Lauderdale, and from the very beginning she was the example of a caring, funny, and thoughtful person! She would always ask if we needed anything, offer us food or support in some way, and always took care of our little son Henry. She always had a good laugh, and something funny to say when we talked, and always helped lighten things up when times were tough. I can't say enough how much of a blessing she was to our family, and she remains a role model to us as how to be as a neighbor. She will be very missed, and we will always be thankful for her. She was a breath of fresh air. Always laughing and making me laugh and was a great listener and so much fun to be around. She was young at heart and I will miss her terribly. Love ya Grace x
Janet was myBFF for 48 years. We shared many of life treasured moments together and with Joe. WE WERE FAMILY, so much more than friends.
She had an indomitable spirit which served her well even to the most recent challenges. She fought for life as she lived, with “Grace and humor”.
I will miss her terribly, but thankful she is finally at peace.

Janet was a wonderful person, mother and wife. She had a beautiful life and enjoyed friendship, family and social events. Janet and Joe visited us in Pittsburgh, Pa and we had one of greatest times of our life because of their love and happiness. The laughs and stories never ended until they backed out of our driveway. Janet, we love ❤️ you and God Bless.
