Obituary of George John Glycenfer
George John Glycenfer, 63, of Freehold passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at home. He was born in Jersey City and raised in Nutley. George had lived in Staten Island and Houston, TX for many years before moving back to Freehold about a year ago. He worked for Local #20 as a Union Carpenter for many years. George enjoyed fishing at Raritan Bay and hunting in the Poconos, always with a cold Budweiser. He was known for watching Game Show Network and his ability to conquer trivia. George was an amazing cook. He made an amazing sauce and perfected a homemade gravy recipe by watching his mother-in-law in the kitchen during holidays. Above all, George was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was passionate about spending quality time with his family. He will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Sylvia Glycenfer. George is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Lori Glycenfer of Freehold; children, George Glycenfer of Freehold, Sean Glycenfer of Texas, Jessica Khan of Bloomfield, Dawn Crawford of Bloomfield, and Nicole Glycenfer of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Lorelei Glycenfer, Sophie Glycenfer, Landon Glycenfer, Matthew Rosado, Christopher Khan, and Sameer Khan; two siblings; and many loving family members.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:30 with his funeral service to follow.
