Christopher Masiello

Obituary of Christopher John Masiello

Christopher John Masiello, 29, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  He was born in Brooklyn, raised in Staten Island, and settled here in 2019.  After graduating from Rider University with a degree in journalism, Christopher went to work for National Grid as a customer service representative.  He was a sports fanatic and a skilled sports trivia enthusiast, avid gamer online with friends, as well as a tennis picker and UFC fight blogger.  Some of his favorite teams were Ohio State, New York Mets, New York Jets and the Chicago Bulls, especially Michael Jordan.  He loved a strong drink, to party with his loved ones, and celebrating his birthday in Atlantic City and playing craps or a good Texas hold ‘em game.  Christopher was loved by all who knew him, even more so by his loyal friends.  A true fighter, his poor health never stopped him, and also taught those around him to persevere.  Nothing could keep him from being a fierce competitor, and he had a need to win.

Christopher is survived by his parents, James and Maria Masiello of Howell; brothers, Matthew Masiello and his fiancée, Lynzee of Jersey City, and Gregory Masiello of Howell; grandmother, Jennie Masiello; aunt, Lorraine Masiello, uncle, Anthony Bologna and his wife, Linda; godson, Vincent; cousins, Dana, T.J. and Desi, Jenna and her husband, John, Samantha and her fiancé, Kevin, and Paul; and many loving cousins, family members and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Visiting Nurses Association and BAYADA Home Health Care for their exceptional care and support.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday April 18, 2022 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, and Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
