Obituary of Dominick Magliaro

Dominick Magliaro, 93, of Toms River passed away at home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.  He was born in Orange, raised in South Orange, and had lived in West Orange before settling in Toms River in 1991.  Dominick served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He worked as a butcher for ShopRite in the Oranges for over 45 years before retiring in 1990 and was also a member of Local 464A United Food and Commercial Workers Union.   He was a member of the Seaside Italian American Club and was in recovery in Gamblers Anonymous for over fifty-five years.  A man of faith, Dominick was a former parishioner of both Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and Our Lady of the Valley Church.  A baseball enthusiast, he adored his NY Yankees.  Dominick was a devoted husband, loving dad, and affectionate grandpa.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph, and Angelina Magliaro; and fourteen siblings.  Dominick is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen J. Magliaro; children, Donna Meola of Freehold, Michael Magliaro and his wife, Mary Anne of Greenville, SC, and Mark Magliaro and his wife, Denise of Freehold; six grandchildren, Stephanie Meola, Michael Meola, Gene Magliaro, Landa Papashvilli and her husband, George, Gianni Magliaro, and Christian Magliaro; and his sister, Brenda Tarantino of Toms River.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 11:30 AM on Monday, April 25, 2022 for the procession to his 12:30 PM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Entombment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dominick’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.  For information, directions or to leave condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
