Obituary of Joan Butterfield

Joan Butterfield, 86, of Jackson NJ passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Centra State Medical Center. She was born in Hazlet and raised in Union Beach. Along with her husband, William they raised their children in Holmdel and retired to Vermont and Florida before returning to New Jersey in 2021. She sold real estate in New Jersey and Vermont for many years.  Joan loved to stay active and enjoyed playing bridge, mahjong and watching tennis matches on tv. Her favorite hobby was her family, and she took great pride in being a Grammie to her grandchildren and GiGi to her great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, William J. Butterfield in 2019. She is survived by her adoring husband, William Butterfield of Jackson; Two Children, Sheila Ryan and her husband, Thomas of Freehold and Gregory S. Butterfield and his wife, Kasia of Quechee Vermont; Four Grandchildren, Kimberly Laiken and her husband, Jeremy, Kayla Sanguiliano and her husband, Albie, Ethan Butterfield and Lucas Butterfield and his wife, Shina; Four Great Grand Children, Albie Sanguiliano IV, Millana Laiken, Rory Sanguiliano and Madeline Laiken.

Gathering of friends will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:30 PM with a memorial service to follow.
