Obituary of Janet Vanderspiegel
Janet Vanderspiegel, 74, of Howell passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born and raised in Freehold and settled to Howell in 1973. Janet was a devoted mother, who made it her priority to be a part of all of her children’s functions when they were growing up. She was an avid New York Rangers fan and had a tradition of frequently going to games with her son. Janet was a dog lover and enjoyed hanging bird feeders so she could bird watch. She had a green thumb, truly enjoyed plants and gardening, and especially loved Lilacs. During the holidays, Janet would paint custom ornaments which she would give as gifts. She was a horror movie fan, loved crocheting, and had a passion for Mustangs. Janet had a 20-year long tradition with her late husband of traveling to Lake George. Above all, she was very family oriented and made sure to spend quality time with her beloved grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis G. Vanderspiegel; and parents, Frederick and Helen Hayward. Janet is survived by her children, Sherri Vanderspiegel and her husband, Christopher Woolley of Jackson, and Louie Vanderspiegel and his wife, Elyse of Howell; grandchildren, Logan and Tessa; and faithful canine companion, Ginger.
