Obituary of Betty R. Megill

Betty R. Megill, 87, of Farmingdale passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at The Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center, Freehold Township . She was born in Englewood, raised in Tenafly and lived in Freehold before settling in Farmingdale in 1952. She worked alongside her husband, Harry at their family business, Harry Megill Excavating in Farmingdale. Betty would frequent Howell Lanes Bowling Alley, a place she truly considered her second home. She enjoyed listening to Revered Kelly preach at Ardena Baptist Church on Sundays and took great pride in her garden. Betty was known for her warmth of heart. She tended to her four cats in her nurturing ways. Betty also expressed love to her grandchildren through foods such as her goulash and chili.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry W. Megill; and daughter, Susan Hall. Betty is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Tremper and her husband, William of Howell; Son In law, Ralph Hall of Farmingdale; five grandchildren, Jennifer Tremper of Howell, Cynthia Tremper of Lakehurst, William Timmerman, Jr. and his wife, Amy of Farmingdale, David Hall of Farmingdale and Steven Hall and his wife, Alena of Farmingdale; great grandson, Kevin Dennen; three brothers, Richard Guckenberger and his wife, Patty of Freehold, John Guckenberger of PA, and James Guckenberger and his wife, Patty of PA and her four loyal cats, Buddy, Pumpkin, Daisy and Patches

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Service at the funeral home on Saturday, May 28, 2022 with an interment to follow.
