Obituary of Barbara A. Tafuri

 

Barbara A. Tafuri, 70, of Freehold passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at The Atrium at Navesink Harbor, Red Bank.  She was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in the Great Kills section of Staten Island and Holmdel before settling in Freehold.  Barbara worked for Dental Health in Holmdel and Dr. Saad in Eatontown.  A woman of faith, she was a former parishioner of the Church of St. Catharine in Holmdel where she taught CCD and served as a Eucharistic Minister, and later became a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine in Freehold Township.  Barbara enjoyed cooking and ceramics but her greatest joy in life came from being a grandmother. 

 

She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Tafuri in 1997; and her sister, Bernadette Zdanowicz.  Barbara is survived by her children, Dennis Tafuri and his wife, Monica of Oceanport, Allison Tafuri and her husband, Chris Ferguson of Jeffersonville, VT, Michele Ndeto of FL, Vincent Tafuri of Middletown and Louis Tafuri and his wife, Gianna of Eatontown; six grandchildren, Dennis III, Mila, Keli Dennis, Bella, Sophia and Kaya; two sisters, Marguerite Paciello of Miami, FL and Michelle Tambusco and her husband, Michael of Staten Island, NY; and brother-in-law, Leonard Zdanowicz of Manchester. 

 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township on Friday, June 10, 2022.  Entombment will follow in Holmdel Cemetery & Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel.  For those who desire, donations in memory of Barbara may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For information, directions, or to leave condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
