Obituary of James Rosciano, Jr.
James Rosciano Jr., 86, of Howell passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and settled to Howell in 1998. James worked as a Business Agent for the New York City Department of Sanitation for 33 years. He bravely served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. James was a devoted Catholic and active parishioner of St. Aloysius. He was a supportive father and father-in-law who was fast to provide encouragement and wisdom. James was the patriarch of both sides of his family. He was the man that everyone would go to for help and never turned anyone away; everyone called "Uncle Jimmy". James was an avid New York Giants fan. He held season tickets for over 60 years. Sunday dinner and a Giants game was a favorite, especially homemade lasagna made by his wife. James loved to spend time in his hot tub. James was most proud of his grandchildren and their accomplishments. He would say, Elizabeth "the therapist"; Erica "the lawyer"; James IV "the future NFL Coach"; and Alexa "the accountant". They were the joy of his life. Popi was an "Uber driver" before there was Uber! Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, Popi, brother, and uncle, who will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
James was predeceased by his parents, James Rosciano Sr., and Helen Rosciano; two brothers, Joseph and Thomas; and sister, Louise O'Donell. James is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Rosciano; children, James Rosciano III and his fiance, Michele Taylor of Howell and Michelle DiPietro and her husband, Philip of Howell; grandchildren, Elizabeth Rose Rosciano and fiancé, Michael Nigro; Erica DiPietro, James Rosciano IV, Alexa DiPietro, Lauren Taylor, and J.T. Taylor; sister-in-law, Maria Hudson and her husband, Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.
