Obituary of Marie Leone

Marie Leone, 87, of Marlboro passed away peacefully at Sunrise of Marlboro on Sunday, July 10, 2022.  She was born and raised in Brooklyn before settling to Marlboro in 2019. Marie was a devoted parishioner at The Basilica of Regina Pacis Church, Brooklyn and belonged to the prayer group and worked in the gift shop for 8 years. She was very active in her community. Marie loved nothing more than being with her family and cherished the memories of their annual summer vacations and barbecues.

She was predeceased by her son, Robert Leone, grandson, Christopher R. Leone and sister, Anna Ippoliti. Marie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Christopher E. Leone of Marlboro; two children, Christopher Leone and his wife, Linda of Freehold, Denise Leone and her husband, Peter Graffagnino of Bridgeville, Delaware; three grandchildren, Sarah Macolino and her husband, Paul, Michael Leone and Jessica Leone; Two great granddaughters, Evelina and Giulia; brother, Carl Sutera of Staten Island.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church, 100 North Main Street, Marlboro, NJ 07746, on Thursday, July 14, 2022.
